Much thought has gone into selecting the charities supported by the purchase of each Hope’s Flame candle. There are many wonderful organizations around the globe doing amazing work and we have chosen a select few to best maximize financial support. These organizations align with the intention of the Hope’s Flame candle dedicated to them and meet the following criteria:

• Must fall into one of the following categories: health, habitat restoration, emergency aid, and animal rescue and care 
• Must be a legally established nonprofit organization with a 501 (c)(3) designation
• Must be fiscally responsible by generating adequate resources, effectively managing them, and appropriately compensating staff
• Must be steadfast in fulfilling its mission and purpose, explaining how its programs work and how much they cost, and supporting and recognizing its volunteers
• Must freely and accurately share information about its governance, finances, and operations
• Must promote inclusiveness, pluralism, and diversity
• Must be committed to educating the public, including appropriate advocacy and lobbying.
